We're taking a cruise with our two little ones and their godparents. Going back to Maine, which is where we met, and we'll be visiting the spot of our first date (almost exactly 9 years later!)
Our summer plans involve moving from Maryland to South Carolina! Wahoo!
Since money is tight and gas is $$$$$ we are only about to do "Day Trips" with the kids. My husband schedule his vacation to have several long weekends instead of a full week.
We plan on going to ...
- The Beach
- The Zoo
- NYC
- A boat ride on the river
- The county fair
- Waterpark
And a few picnics here and there too.
Thank you for this offer and for letting us know about the Disney contest.

no travel plans this summer. gas is to high! afunny story though. we were traveling to buffalo for christmas from north carolina. it was a long drive. our almost two year old got out of the car and said okay lets go home. theres no sun but there is one at home. it was snowing in buffalo, and sunny but chilly in nc.
sorry thats all i could i think of
We're going with my in-laws on a couple weekend camping trips this summer.
In the past 18 months, we've traveled to both coasts and Europe with my son, so we're staying home for a while. That's way more relaxing than traveling these days.
Actually, we've already completed our summer vacation plans Memorial Day weekend. We went to Ft. Wayne. We visited the Children's Zoo and the Black Pine Animal Park. And of course we made time for swimming!
jceko77@yahoo.com
Our summer plans are fairly mundane. We are planning on going to a couple of picnics and maybe even fitting a camping trip to the coast in there somewhere.

My summer plans involve working the city I live in like I'm new to the city. I screwed up and didn't sign my daughter up for camp and we're not going anywhere. I'm going to have to be REALLY creative about each day. I'm totally stressed.
We are doing daytrips this year as no one wants to babysit the iguana and stray cats.
So, we have planned NYC (yeah!), Philadelphia Museum of Art ( my son suggested this, I was so proud...come to find out, it's to pay homage to Mr. T). Hubby doesn't know it yet but I also want to do D.C. museums again and an amusement park.
At which all of the above, we shall need underwear.
We're going to the Outer Banks of North Carolina with my in-laws. A week at the beach - Ahhhhh.....
Nothing too exciting - just a trip to visit family in Tampa, Florida. But it's relaxing!
We're going to a big lodge / water park!
We're sticking close to home this summer, but will take a couple trips to the Oregon Coast, and are camping at the Oregon Country Fair. Lots of fun!
We're going to the Jersey Shore, as we have for several years -- but this year with our little guy, who will be 8 months old! I can't wait to see him react to the ocean.
We have no plans for this summer but when we flew with my son at 6 weeks, he threw up as soon as he got in the car seat to drive to the airport, pooped when we got to the airport and then peed threw a diaper when we started to take off.
#1 trip: WA to MS and NB in July
#2 trip: WA to CT in Oct
Plus lots of day trips to the water park, zoo, family etc...
With gas prices are trips will be small. Thinking of maybe going to the petting zoo and the beach. Maybe bringing them down to the school playground and the county fair.
samsakara@twcny.rr.com
We'll be loading everyone up and heading for a family reunion in AL and then to Grandma's house for a week!
We're going to Utah for a family reunion. Its going to be great!
We're roadtripping to my in-laws one state over at the end of the month. It's my MIL's 50th birthday so all her kids and grandkids will be there. Eight adults and three kids under 5 (one who is special needs) and a dog all in one house. Should be an interesting few days!
beccachristensen at hotmail dot com
Oh do we have summer plans! Of course, plans were made LONG before gas prices became absurd, so editing may be necessary.
We are headed to Arizona to visit family and to Lake Powell for fun in the sun in July and to a family reunion in Utah in August. All of which require HOURS of driving with a toddler, should be interesting!
We'll be visiting my inlaws and going to my best friends' wedding.
We just got back from Montana (visiting in-laws) and my family is coming in next month from Chicago, then we're going to Seattle in August for a sis-in-law's wedding. What a busy summer!
byubabe14 at yahoo dot com
We will be doing a lot of camping this summer!!! Can't wait!
Well, we'll be taking a babymoon for our anniversary next week... we were going to Iowa City, IA, but now the floods have changed our plans...
We're going to Maine for a week with my in-laws. It should be a quiet low-key vacation. I hope! Thanks for the giveaway.
we're going to see my sister when she has her baby later this month.
We are planning a 1 1/2 week trip to camp at the lake my mother in law spends her summers at. The only big expense will be gas so its a great vacation.
We don't have any official travel plans this summer, we're planning a Disneyland trip in the fall. We may take a trip to the new "Great Wolf Lodge" or something like that. It's a n indoor waterpark that is perfect for the weather in the pacific northwest!
We're not going anywhere. With the price of gas being what it is and all the additional fees the airlines keep tagging on, we're staying put this summer.
long trips across the U.S. and abroad to Europe.

I luckily have no travel plans this summer. We're skipping out on my husbands family reunion and staying at home!
momabr@yahoo.com
We havea trip planned in August to the beach near my parents' house. If our family didn't live over 5 hours away, we might not travel at all, but as it is, we want our son to enjoy the beach while he can. Last year it was too hot! Hopefully this summer we'll be able to enjoy our time away.
My funny traveling experience is when we went on our honeymoon, we went to Myrtle Beach by plane. We had never been there, and being young and naive, thought it would be like Virginia Beach. We get there and have a taxi take us to our hotel room, only to find that everything is so far apart that we needed a car! Called the taxi back and get the same guy, who looks at us strange and takes us back to the airport so we can rent a car. LOL, oh well!
No definite plans for summer travel yet, but we always take drives around Ohio on summer & fall weekends, especially when the locally grown peaches and apples are in season. With gas prices so high, we will not be driving to a NC or SC beach this summer, but maybe next year (I hope!)
We are going to visit my brother in law who lives in Myrtle Beach, SC (lucky dog). We are also planning a weekend trip to Holiday World in Santa Claus, IN.
We would love to visit family in Maine and Vermont, but all that's in our forecast is a trip to the Indianapolis Zoo. And maybe the American Girl Place in Chicago.
Our plans will be to head out to the beach and enjoy some nice weather. katie_mmartin at yahoo dot com.
Off to Grandma and Grandpa's house near Seattle. It's right on the water, but we're still in the woods. Perfect for little boys to play!
We're mostly sticking around home this year. We usually head out to Colorado, but no budget exists for it this year. We're really hoping that it will work out for us to meet my parents and two youngest siblings in Ohio for a family reunion in July, though... It's been 2 years since I last saw them. We haven't been able to firmly say we can make it, but we're still planning on it.
Were going to a wedding in Napa. Adults only!
We now have 3 kids age almost 5 and under - we'll be visiting grandparents this summer! The kids love seeing them and vice versa. :)
I'm heading to Massachusetts this summer to visit friends and family. My parents live within walking distance of the beach!
We have two family weddings to attend and making them in our summer vacations.
We plan on doing a lot of camping in and around Lake Tahoe.
gkstratos @yahoo.com
We are going camping in the ID mountains at the end of July. Plus we will be doing day trips to things around the Los Angeles area.Great giveaway! Thanks for offering!

I never go on "vacation". We go to Puerto Rico every couple years, but that's to visit the hubby's mother and her side of the family. They're pretty serious people so that's not usually 'funny'. Although, some people do think it's funny that she insists we go visit all of his exgirlfriends from when he lived there. The only vacation thing about it is not going to work.
We love Hanes!!

well, we planned on traveling from IL to NE for a wedding last weekend. We got as far as the IL/Iowa border when all the roads were closed from flooding. We ended up having to turn around and go back home.
Alas, no travel plans for us this summer. I am promised a cruise for my 30th birthday in July, but we can't go until I'm done nursing the young'un. So should I tell you about my winter/summer 2009 plans?
katiekarr at gmail dot com
Well since I get a summer vacation I can't exactly go on VACATION so we'll be playing in the garage/studio and getting messy.
Well, since we are short of money, we are doing a few weekend camping trips instead of one big trip. We went Memorial Day weekend, this coming weekend, and in the fall when it cools back down. This way we still have fun!
skylergrotz at hotmail dot com
We plan to camp several times this year. Somewhere in the mountains of West Virginia. Thanks so much for the opportunity.
planetmisty@gmail.com
We are visiting family in Alabama, then going to the beach in Florida for a couple of days. Other than that, we'll be going to the zoo a few times since the gas prices are so high.
when my inlaws visit we are going to the beach over night and lots of visitors
No travel plans this summer. Boo hoo! Funny travel story: on my last road trip, the fuse blew in the car cigarette lighter, which is what I needed to plug in my breast pump. I ended up pulling into a rest stop and begging a manager to show me to a back room where I could plug in... she refused, so-- swear-- I pumped in the middle of McDonald's (with a blanket thrown over me, of course).
I just got back from a 7 day Alaskan cruise
dolls123[at]gmail[dot]com
I won a trip to Hawaii from the Ellen show. We are going 7 days in Sept.
Best times of our lives. I cannot wait.
no travel plans....who can afford it????
Our main trip this summer will be traveling approx 18 hrs to visit my family in Manitoba, Canada.
fun! we plan to travel a lot actually. charlotte a few times.. as well as the mtns and beach (we live an hour 1/2 from the nc coast)
We're taking a mission trip to NYC.
Our plans are a trip to Disney World for a few days. We were going to go visit family up north, but gas prices
made a change in plans. We live only a 2 1/2 hours from Orlando, so it's the best we could come up with. Thanks for the giveaway!
we'll be doing the annual family trek to cape cod for 4th of july weekend.
We'll be heading up to Ontario (from Kentucky) for a couple weeks in July. Will be great fun!
Vacation plans are visiting family and long trips to the ocean. Yippee!!!
marzcricket@yahoo.com
we have no special plans, maybe rent a cabin at the lake for a week
tiramisu392 (at) yahoo.com
Going on a road trip down the Oregon Coast at the end of the month.
We are taking a trip to Gettysburg and the Boyd's Bears factory!
Lots of time around the pool, a few trips to the local waterpark and 4th of July at the lake!
We've saved all our money to go home for a vacation with the family.
No summer travels here, except the regular run around to family within a day drive. We bought new furniture and things with the money. Thanks for this giveaway.
Oh,fun, can I talk about both?
I promise to keep it short..(yeah, right)
We are traveling from Washinton, up by the Canadian Border down to ASU in Arizona in about a month. We are taking our youngest to attend his freshman year. He is an awesome kid, and if you ever read my blog you know what a talent he has. We are anxious for him, very proud and looking forward to an empty house! Big change for us along with a great road trip where we plan to stop and see the Grand Canyon, something neither of us have seen.
Then there was the time we took a road trip when the kids were 8,10 and the 17year old. We were going through the Mountains and were traveling next to a cliff where the land just went straight down, inches from the car it seemed...even I was thinking, don't swerve at ALL! My young son was sitting behind me and our daughter was behind Papa who was driving. My other older daughter was on the bench in the way back. All the sudden, Our son asked me real quiet, almost whispering.."Mom, am I afraid of heights?" I looked back and he was looking down the cliff with his eyes bugging out of his head and I swear the hair on his neck was standing straight up and he had goosebumps on his arms! I said "I am not sure Mason, do you feel scared or nervous right now?" And he kinda slowly whispered.."Yeeeaaahh..can I trade seats with Leah?" I thought good idea, that way he won't have to see the mile deep ravine inches away from our car. So I asked my daughter and she is and always has been little miss fearless...boy do I have stories about that. But, anyway..she said, "SURE!" and as they were trading seats Mason spoke up and says..."Good, this way if we fall, Leah will die first!" We just all died laughing, he always has to take jabs at his sister..but, doesn't mean it. He thanked her after we all stopped laughing so hard for trading places with him. We all still crack up when we remember that story.
Told ya, chatty patty here.
We are leaving for Orlando on Friday!!!
My worst travel experience was when I vomitted all over myself on my flight to NYC. In my defense, I was 28 weeks pregnant, it was a turbulent flight and four other people had the same issue. The worst part was being covered in it for almost a half hour. My most embarassing moment ever. Some passengers were super sympathic and other complained, very loudly.
We're heading to Savannah, GA to check out the city's history and beach.
We don't have any big plans, but hopefully will be able to manage a few little weekend trips here and there. Most of our plans involve staying close to home though! :)
We are renting a very deluxe cabin for a week to just unwind. We plan to go fishing, boating, swimming, grilling and relaxing!
No travel plans..but we will be having our second one this summer so certainly an adventurous trip!:)

My parents used to live a short 4.5 hour drive away, but recently moved to FL. We are all bitter over the 22+ hour drive that I take alone several times a year with my FOUR kids. We have discovered that books on tape keep everyone happy and on our last trip, we enjoyed Tom Sawyer. I-65 had crawled to a halt, so somewhere in KY we pulled off and decided to try the overland route for a while. At the time on our CD, Tom and Huck were sailing their raft on the Mississippi. Twisting and turning through Mammoth Cave Nat'l. Park, we suddenly came upon a sign that read "Road Ends in Water." I had no idea what that meant, but sure enough, around the next bend the road just ended — in water. I was about to turn around when I saw someone waving us on down to a little hand-operated, two-car ferry that got us across that odd body of water. We all felt that Mark Twain himself had taken on us this little adventure. Much more fun than the interstate!
We usually don't travel much and probably won't at all with the gas prices the way they are. We are planning on some trips to the beach by us though, the kids love going & so do hubby & I :)
I'm going on a cruise with my mom.
gotfire (at) yahoo (dot) com
We're going to Grandma's house!
By the time you choose the winner, we'll be on our vacation - driving to Michigan to see grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends!
We've been going down to the beach alot to my husbands parents beach house. We went this past weekend and we are going to go again on july 4th, and at the end of the summer. Great giveaway, thanks!
We're going to spend a few days in New York City this year!
doot65[at]comcast[dot]net
we're going to BIL's wedding bright and early in the morning. 4 nights in a hotel with three children 4 and under -- eeeeek! There's nothing about that that's funny. haha

We're going to San Francisco!
jasonncaryn at yahoo dot com
We're staying home so we don't have to pay for gas! We'll do some day trips to the beach tho. :)
we are moving so no plans to vaca.
The hubby and I just got back from China, now we're doing family stuff in Tennessee and next month we'll be with family in Montana.
bebemiqui82(at)yahoo(dot)com
camping, camping, camping!! I can't wait! :)
No real plans since we're feeling the pinch financially. But I won a radio contest today where if I'm the grand prize winer I'll go to Chicago to see Coldplay! Keep your fingers crossed!
As new parents we haven't traveled much in the past year, but this July we will be visiting our relatives in Virginia. There will be a family reunion and a wedding and we're so excited to be bringing out sweet baby girl. Many aunts, uncles, and cousins have yet to meet her! We will also swing my by alma mater, William & Mary, so she can see all of the beauty that Williamsburg holds.
This summer consists of birthdays and weddings, maybe getting proposed to, signing up my daughter for summer camp, and work work work!
fenix69j@yahoo.com
We are going sailing along the Jersey shore, with family and friends. Thank goodness we have a sailboat with the gas prices.
Not sure I'd classify this as a "really funny" travel story, but it was quite humorous to me! Just this past May, my husband and 2 kids (2 y/o DD and 6 month old DS) flew to Florida for vacation. Our seats were NOT together: 1 window seat for mom and baby on one side of the plane and 2 seats (middle and window) in the row behind on the other side for dad and DD. Half way thru the flight, DD wanted to sit with mom and I noticed that she was on the verge of meltdown. I mouthed to the Huz that we would need to trade kids all the while knowing that our seat neighbors pretended not to know what was going on. As the Huz and I both tried reading each other's lips and figuring out each other's "sign language," gracious Mr.Neighbor took DS, made him body surf to the row behind and the rest of our friendly neighbors followed suit to get him to the Huz! Somehow DD made her way to me and voila! We had made the switch without a hitch! Minutes later, both munchkins fell asleep and all was well!
We are going on a Maryland Mountain getaway for 3 days, with whitewater rafting, mountain biking, and just relaxing as much as possible.
My family and I (husband + 2 kids) are heading for the beaches of North Carolina in 18 days! We'll be traveling to Virginia as well.
We are all excited and CAN'T WAIT.
Other fun things planned this summer? Camping trips and zoo trips and maybe even some weekend trips to nearby states that we've been dying to check out!
Our travel plans consist mainly of getting grandkids and bringing them here for "Camp Grandparents". We enjoy having each of the grandkids at some point during their summer vacation from school. Then we plan local activities to do with them.
We are keeping it local, as both my kids stink at road trips! We are planning day at the zoo and several fairs. Simple but fun!
We're just going to hang out,go swimming, go to local parks and festivals...stuff like that.
murphykatt(at)yahoo(dot)com
Family travel plans? We just took our daughter to Disneyland a few weeks (she loved, we loved it...it's such a magical place).
Solo travel plans? BlogHer!
P.S. I love Hanes - the brand offers sturdy, stylish, and affordable clothing...
We don't have definite travel plans this summer, welive by the lake so probablymany trips to the beach and maybe a short camping trip thrown in along the way. Gas prices are too high to go too far but we'll make the best of it! Thanks for a great giveaway!
furygirl3132@comcast.net
Since money is so tight and gas and food prices are so high, the best we can come up with is an overnight trip to Six Flags:) Oh well, maybe next year we'll get to do the Disney thing!!
i'm just hoping we can at least afford to go to the amusement park at cedar point.
Boy I have a lot to do this summer. After this summer will need more hanes. We have to make a trip of 2500 miles round trip to be with son in law who is getting surgery. We are driving because we just adopted a dog from animal control and don't want to leave him at kennel. Then we are going to have to make the same trip again in september because son and daughter in law are expecting their first child. Then today just got phone call from daughter saying she is getting married august 23. How do we do three trips to the same area 3 times within 4 months time, we just had made trip in Febuary. Our 16 year old leaves for camp 600 miles away and 12 year old son just went to camp with my 12 year old grandson 1200 miles away. So when do we get to relax and enjoy summer?
Thank you for a chance to win.
Our family travel plans include visiting my husband's family in Chicagoland. They rarely get to see my son so we try to visit them every four months or so. He is their only grandson. We try to do something different each time we are there. I think this year we are going to hit up Shedd Aquarium.
Oh, we love Hanes - in fact, I bought my oldest son & I plain white Hanes t-shirts to wear while photographing a wedding yesterday - they were perfect!
As for travel, we're not really doing any. We had gone down to TN in March to visit hubby's family. Wanna hear a funny story? The entire 10 days, at least 1 kid was sick. and I've got 3 kids! Not so funny :P
We'll do small day trip-like things as well. Trips to the lake, or like last night, we went to our "Summer Fest" which involved standing in the parking lot of the hardware store listening to a pretty good band, and then watching (and photographing) fireworks while hubby & kids sought out lightning bugs. Sounds like something out of a book, doesn't it? LOL It was lots of fun :)
We don't really have big travel plans this year due to the price of gas. Our in laws live in San Antonio, (only 3 hours away), so we will probably visit them and take in Sea World or Six Flags.
We aren't traveling but are having relatives come visit us here instead!
we just went to disney in march so we will just go a couple short close to home weekend trips.
thanks!

To make our family trips less stressful we have traveling games that include hand play or word games. My favorite is TV series word play. Pick a TV series title like 7th Heaven, the next player or team needs to have a TV series title starting with the last letter of 7th Heaven "N" if they can't think of one and you do you get a point.
We will be going camping at a ranch just north of us and my daughter will have her first experience riding a horse. She is so excited!
staceyheneveld AT mac DOT com
we are on a tight budget this year, so sadly no big trip for us. we'll have to settle for trips to the park, pool and things like that.
We are hitting everything locally this year, as gas prices have excluded us from much of everything else. It will be fun, though!
We are actually in the middle of our summer getaway - a trip to Grandma and Grandpa's in NC. I just got finished with SheSpeaks where one of highlights of the summer was to meet some incredible bloggers. Conferences really are fun. Hope you enjoy yours coming up.
I would love the Hanes gift certificate since I have two growing girls who need everything from socks to undies to bras and keep growing out of everything.
Take care. (Oh my favorite or most memorable of your summer songs is "Free Falling". Love it.)
Our travel plans for summer? Tent camping in Upstate New York.
Our funniest vacation story? Vacationing in Bracebridge, Ontario in January, being the only people in the hotel besides the workers and needing to heat our Spaghetti O's in the coffee pot, because everything in the town closed down at 5 PM!
Thanks!

When my husband and I were newly married we took our dog, a long hair chihuahua with us camping. We had all new gear - tent, air mattress. Well, our doggy didn't seem to enjoy camping as much as us. When we left the dog food outside the tent at night by accident, we were awakened by dog wimpers the whole night and then dog pee on our brand new air mattress. We left the next day. He was then banned from all camping trips.
When I win the trip then I will have a story... (fingers crossed)
Thanks for the chance.

I don't plan to travel a lot this summer yet again. I probably will go to the local amusement park and the beach, but that is about it. I don't plan on flying anywhere or going too far from home. This is a great giveaway and I really hope I win. Thanks.
Oh I'm so excited for this summer! We are not driving far this year so we are going to all of the surround town festivals! So excited!
Diderrich.Mary@mayo.edu
I'm not taking a trip this summer. I did go to California in March and Tampa in April, so my vacation days are gone!
We travel at least once a summer to visit my family in Wisconsin. It's great fun as they live in a resort town with a lovely lake. Daniel gets to splash and dig to his heart's content, and I get to visit with family and have some down time.
We're going to tree out hometown like we're tourists - public transportation and itineraries to places we don't usually go.
No travel plans here this summer, as I am due to have baby #5 in August. But...we did get a nice trip to Virginia in May.
we went to New York to see a bunch of our family, and then went to Boston, it was a pretty interesting trip
We'll be spending every weekend at the lake on the boat. Sooo relaxing!
with the gas prices we will be not going anywhere :(
We are going to try camping...but with a 4yo, 3yo and 5 month old it could be a short trip :)
for the 4th of July weekend we are going to Seaside Oregon! The best boardwalk, food, fireworks, parade, shopping and beach!
my daughter loves Manny Ramirez & the Boston Red Sox, so we're looking at getting to Chicago or Kansas City right after her birthday to see a game in person.
